Dr. Elifuraha Laltaika is a senior law lecturer and Director of research and consultancy at Tumaini University Makumira (Arusha, Tanzania); former Harvard Law School visiting researcher/scholar; and Iso Lomso Fellow at Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study (STIAS) in South Africa. He previously worked as a Senior Fellow at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Laltaika teaches Constitutional Law; Mining Oil and Gas Law and Public International Law.

Stephen Msechu is an advocate and an arbitrator in Tanzania. Currently he is the Managing Partner at LawAge Consult. Stephen Msechu holds a Master of Laws Degree on Human Rights and Constitutional Law and co-founded HakiRasimali a lead national CSO Coalition advocating for sustainable extractive industries governance. He also co-founded Tanzania Trade and Investment Coalition-TATIC another leading CSO Coalition advocating for beneficial international trade and investment in Tanzania. He also served as Program Manager at Tanganyika Law Society.

Grace trained as a lawyer and an attorney in Tanzania, The Netherlands, UK and Yale. Currently serves as a Senior in House Legal Counsel with a Premier International Development Finance Institution. Grace is a certified Chartered Company Secretary (ICSA) , with interest in Trade and Development Financing.

Dr Consolata Raphael Sulley is a Lecturer in political science at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Leipzig University, Germany, an MA in Political Science and Public Administration and a BA in Political Science and Language Studies from UDSM. She has researched, consulted and published on democracy and the democratisation process in Africa (Kenya and Tanzania in particular), elections, party politics, gender and women’s political empowerment, public policy, local governance, human rights and humanitarianism. Some of her recent publications include: The Messy Practice of Decolonizing a Concept: Everyday Humanitarianism in Tanzania’, (Cambridge University Press, 2023) and ‘'Democracy within parties: Electoral consequences of candidate selection methods in Tanzania’ Party Politics Vol 28: 2 (Sage Publications, 2021)

Josephine is an experienced trade and investment lawyer trained in the United Kingdom. Currently, she works as a Partner at Abner Advocates, a premier Tanzanian law firm. She is skilled in Mergers and Acquisitions, Technology Law, Capital Markets, Corporate Law, Project Finance, and keen interest in oil and gas. Has advised in several international transactions & projects in Tanzania. Josephine has supported in legislative drafting for the Government of Tanzania and interested in the nexus of the law and policy on environmental protection, climate change and the future impact of artificial intelligence on society. She is a current Member of the Board of Trustees at University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom and corporate secretary to a number of boards. Josephine enjoys travelling and writing recipes.

Moses Kulaba is a political economist, Governance, policy and tax law expert, and trained as an economic diplomat with over 15 years of experience. Has researched and written on the subjects of governance, corruption, illicit financial flows, diplomacy, taxation, trade, clean energy and the nexus between Natural resources and development. Prior to joining GEPC, he served as the East Africa’s Regional Manager of the Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI), based in Nairobi, Kenya-where he led and managed NRGI’s Country teams and operations in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and the Africa Anglophone Hub. Moses provides strategic organization , programs and team leadership, ensuring that GEPC is delivering on its mandate as a development think tank entity.

Dr. Ringo is a seasoned Business & Private Sector Expert and Banker. He is an Author of many books on business and leadership, a Motivational speaker, trainer and consultant. Dr Ringo served as a Manager for a number of premier national and international banks in Tanzania before venturing into the Private Sector and Philanthropy. He is currently the Executive Director of Sharon Ringo Foundation, an ordganisation dedicated to influence children and youth to take lead in advocating for enhanced responsiveness and accountability in addressing Climate Action, Environmental Justice and Sustainable Tourism. He is passion about seeing climate justice and Africa greened.

Judith is a founding Director and CEO of Nate Vision in Tanzania, former CEO of Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), East African Board Director for African Women in Mining (AWIMA). She served as an expert for the African Union Experts who have been helping formulating the guidelines for continental Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Strategy and reviewing of mining model law. Dr Japhace Poncian is an academic and experienced researcher in the Extractive Sector. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Politics and Development Studies at Mkwawa University College of Education, Tanzania. He trained at the University of Leeds, and a PhD in Politics from the University of Newcastle. Has a track record of research on the politics of extractive resource governance, energy politics and broader development issues in Tanzania and Africa. His research has appeared in leading international journals such as Energy Policy, Political Geography, Review of African Political Economy, Southern African Studies, Extractive Industries and Society and Resources Policy

Donald is a seasoned Governance and Development Professional with vast experience in the Africa Great Lakes and Horn of Africa. He is currently the Executive Director of Governance Links an entity, based in the mineral rich city of Mwanza, Tanzania , located along the shores of Lake Victoria . He has worked with Regional organisations such as ACORD and served as a Chairperson of Tanzania National Nile Discourse Forum, an expert led initiative aimed building bridges between sustainable development and climate change. He served on the Multisectoral Group (MSG) of the Tanzania Extractive Industries Initiative TEIT, where he championed the need for transparency and improved governance of the extractive sector.

Moses Mkandawire is the Executive Director of the Nyika Instititute, a think tank institution based in Malawi. Previously served as the Executive Director of Church and Society, a Faith based organisation of the Synod of Livingstonia. Has a distinguished experience in civil society, anti corruption and social economic justice , where he has devoted most of his efforts in anti corruption and collaborating with initiatives such as the Publish What You Pay Coalition in Malawi, which he chairs. He served as a member of the Multistakeholder Group (MSG) of the Malawi Extractives Transparency Initiative (MWEITI), advocating for better governance of the extractive sector in Malawi. He is an ardent Anti Corruption campaigner, current Chair of the National Alliance Against Corruption and spent most of his efforts at the Church and Society campaigning against corruption in the public service and placed corrupt government official under check. He brings over 26 years experience in the governance sector.

Alaka is an Extractives Sector Consultant with a legal background and a specialization in Energy, Oil Gas and Mining aspects of the extractives industry. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and has an (LLM) in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee in Scotland. Her core interest and passion is in Policy and Governance, Local Content, Technology and Gender in the Extractives sector. Alaka's experiences includes growing new organizations through networking, fund raising and cultivating relationships, writing and research, teaching and training, speaking and moderating in conferences, corporate governance, policy advocacy and capacity building. She has previously worked at the Association of Women in Extractives in Kenya where as the coordinator she was instrumental in creating professional and business opportunities for women along the energy, oil, gas and mining value chain. Alaka has also worked with the Kenya Government, including the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining (MOPM). She is passionate about research and training in the Extractive Sector.

Mrs. Ange Dorine Irakoze is a Partner and Chief Operating officer at Rubeya & Co-Advocates, based in Bujumbura, Burundi. The law firm is a member of DLA PIPER AFRICA, a swiss verein whose members are comprised of independent law firms in Africa working with DLA PIPER. She is an advocate at the High Court of Burundi and advises on the full spectrum of mining projects in Burundi. Her additional practice areas are energy, regional integration, finance and infrastructure. Ange is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, under the Chair of African Legal Studies. Her research focuses on the role of mining laws in achieving sustainable development in Burundi. In addition, she is former Junior Fellow representative at the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS).

Nader is a highly accomplished energy professional with over 15 years of experience in the energy and petroleum sector. He is currently a Sudan Country team member of the Initiative on climate Action Transparency Project (ICAT), a multi agency initiative implemented in collaboration with UNEP, CCC and HCENR building MRV system in the energy sector. Nader held leadership positions within the Sudanese Ministry o Energy & Petroleum, including currently heading the Gas Project Business Development and served as a Senior Technical Business Development Executive Assistant to the Minister for Minerals in Sudan and was a Senior Petroleum Economist at the Oil & Exploration Authority at the Ministry of Petroleum, where among others dealt with Promotion, Licensing and Agreements. Nader's education background reflects his dedication to the energy field. He holds a Masters degree in Energy Economics the University of Dundee, in Scotland (Chevening Scholar) and a Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Sudan University of Science and Technology. He is passionate about supporting sustainable development in Africa. He is a certified on Financing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and happy to leverage his expertise to the benefit of African governments, private sector and CSOs. He is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Don Bosco Malish is an influential human rights defender with more than 20 years in human rights programming through philanthropy, advocacy and partnerships with government, civic and political actors. He strives to ignite people's individual potentials and drives to pursue their human rights and live a dignified life. He served in multiple leadership and programmatic positions in East and Horn of Africa. Since 2022, Don served as an Advocacy Officer for the Open Society Foundations (OSF), Africa. This role aimed at supporting citizen mobilisation and organisation against resurgent authoritarianism and democratic regression by strengthening democratic movements, enhancing the capacities of democratic institutions, defending civic space and media freedoms and promoting relevant regional norms and institutions. Previously, he has served as a Program Officer for the Open Society Initiative for East Africa (OSIEA), where he was responsible for Uganda, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan & Tanzania. Under this role, he led, planned and implemented and made strategic choices in the field in addition to managing direct partners and stakeholders. He developed and managed a grant portfolio of 96 grants worth USD $24 M with 1/3 running as multiyear grants in under five years of assignment in elections, civic engagement and participation. Don provided strategic analysis of governance and human rights trends to inform portfolio programming in elections, civic engagement and participation, an incredible talent that he is well known for. He succeeded in supporting the emergence of social movements in the region that strived to safeguard democracy. He is passionate about serving humanity with a human rights and development lens. Don is currently based in Kampala, Uganda.

He is a visionary leader and dedicated academician with rich experience in senior management positions, training, research, consultancy, and community services. Currently pursuing a PhD in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management at The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha, he holds a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from Mzumbe University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cooperative Management and Accounting from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania. Professionally, Gerald has played pivotal roles as a Lecturer, Researcher, and Consultant, offering services to both local and international organizations. His expertise spans across business management, project management, monitoring and evaluation, organizational development, financial management, entrepreneurship development, and capacity building. In leadership capacities, he has led teams towards strategic goals and shaped governance and policy as a Board Member. In managerial roles, he has directed teams, enhanced operational efficiency and managed robust budgets. Gerald has acquired vast expertise in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement, alongside a proven track record of fostering organizational growth and driving community development initiatives. He is currently a lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University in Tanzania and founder and board chairman at Geniham Consultants Ltd.

Dr Kikelomo Kila is a senior lecturer, senior researcher and policy analyst in climate change, renewable energy and corporate regulation law and policy in developing countries. She is a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of the Learning Accord Multi Academy Trust (LAMAT), UK and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her extensive research in climate change law earned her an endorsement as an Exceptional Talent in Legal Research by the British Academy in March 2020 and she has a book on Climate Change Regulation in Africa with Routledge Publishers wherein she conceptualised the innovative dilute interventionism legal paradigm, and a Book Chapter publication with Cambridge University Press amongst other publications. She obtained a PhD in Climate Change Law and Policy from the University of Exeter under full doctoral sponsorship by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund. She obtained her LLB from the University of Buckingham in 2009 and her LLM in Oil and Gas Law from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen in 2012. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a Senior Research Consultant (Policy, Consultation and Legislative Drafting) to the Constitution Review Committee of the Nigerian Senate. Kikelomo specialises in teaching English Legal System, Employment Law and Climate Change Law and has practical experience in employment law matters. Kikelomo has been involved in organising conferences with leading researchers and stakeholders from universities in New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Africa, the UK, and Europe to discuss topical issues in climate change, Energy, Environmental and sustainable development legal framework and policies. She was invited as a climate change expert at the recent COP 28 event in December 2023, Dubai UAE and has wide-reaching impact experience in African countries, including her recent workshop organised in Burundi for reforming the country's climate change legal framework. She is currently working with the government to draft a comprehensive, contemporary Climate Change Legislation for the country. She has experience in designing and developing virtual learning programmes for teaching and learning in higher education and providing courses and consultancy services on climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, carbon trading and climate financing projects.
